Can a painted door sell a home for more?

It is likely the very first detail a Buyer notices, touches and begins forming their entire opinion about your property for sale. It is an exterior enhancement I advise every seller to get right. You guessed it, it's the front door!

So, can a painted door sell a home for more?  Why not cover your bases in case it can. If a Buyer loves a property from the moment they open the front door, that favourable first impression often results in a great offer.

Here are six of my (Benjamin Moore) favourites that are sure to freshen up any entrance:

1. Black Satin 2131-10 Slightly milky black that blends well, without feeling too black.
2. Cinder AF-705 Classic charcoal grey that is very current and enhances most brick tones.
3. Persimmon 2088-40 Powdery yet bold with natural undertones. A very liveable orange.
4. Yellow Highlighter 2021-40 Bright, bold and memorable. Looks great paired with stone.
5. Million Dollar Red 2003-10 Classic, heritage red. Definately a bold first impression!
6. Black Jack 2133-20 Crisp, "black" black that enhances most exteriors.

I always recommend painting the entire door, including the interior side. This pop of colour, if using a bold colour, or anchor if using black or grey, adds drama and style with little effort.

Take a few moments to ensure that your lock and handle sets are clean and in good condition (there is nothing worse than opening a door and feeling crud stuck to the handle).

**Exterior Aura Latex in Satin finish is my go to line, and although expensive compared to other brands, the quality and ease of use is worth every penny!
